We are delighted to formally confirm the appointments of two new part time staff members within our YMCA Europe’s team starting on June 1st.
John Peacock will combine his role as National General Secretary of YMCA Ireland with our new Chief Operating Officer position.
With large experience in management and governance roles at the YMCA, John has proven his success in leading the development of organisations with a focus on their efficiency and impact.
As COO, John will report to the Secretary General and work closely with the Executive Staff Team in order to meet our strategic goals through an operational perspective including key areas such as financial and programmatic management.
Alina Pop has been appointed as Chief Service Officer also as a part time position that she will be able to combine with her actual responsibilities as National General Secretary of YMCA Romania.
Using her deep experience within the YMCA movement at all levels, Alina will focus on the further development of our Area Organisation through the strengthening of the relation with our member YMCAs, strengthen networks, optimize resources allocation and deliver member support services. Alina will report to the Secretary General and will work alongside the Executive Staff Team.
YMCA Europe’s Secretariat and Executive Committee are thankful to both John and Alina for their commitment and also to the governance bodies of YMCAs Ireland and Romania for their support and generosity. We wish them a successful performance of their new strategic leadership positions at our European level.
