YMCA Europe’s General Assembly 2024 unanimously adopts resolution on equal rights and treatment of refugees.
During our General Assembly (23-26 May 2924, Athens), the Resolution proposed by YMCA Europe’s Working Group on Refugees was formally adopted by all delegates representing the national YMCAs across Europe.
This resolution underscores our commitment to advocating for the equal rights and fair treatment of all individuals under international protection, including refugees, migrants, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, and beneficiaries of temporary protection across Europe. It aims to ensure that these vulnerable groups receive the support, respect, and opportunities they deserve, reflecting YMCA’s dedication to humanitarian principles and social justice.
With this resolution, YMCA Europe reaffirms its role as a leading advocate for human rights and continues to work tirelessly to provide safe and inclusive environments for all individuals seeking refuge and protection. We look forward to collaborating with national YMCAs and other stakeholders to implement the principles outlined in this resolution effectively.
