During October 17-18, Warsaw held an offline meeting of the participants of the Field group of Ukraine*, finally in person, after a long period of online meetings.
In addition to the Ukrainian team together with President Oksana Yaremenko, Secretary General Viktor Serbulov and Board Member Alina Revenko, the meeting was attended by representatives of YMCA Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, as well as General Secretary World YMCA Sanvee Madjri Carlos and General Secretary YMCA Europe – Juan Simoes Iglesias and, of course, the long-term head of the Field group – Jan Nissén.
Partners spent two days together to discuss about the collective response of the YMCAs from across the World, the development of the National and local YMCAs in Ukraine during the war crisis, reports on activities, movement strengthening, local-to-local cooperation, perspectives from the partners, and plans for the future.
The Youth Empowerment Center concept was presented by YWCA-YMCA Norway and Y Global. The workshop on Local-to-Local development was introduced by YWCA-YMCA Denmark, as well as the concept of the potential programme for the veterans.
The visit to the programme activity of the YMCA Mission in Poland took place in the evening, inspiring Polish and Ukrainian kids to a healthy lifestyle and learn from different cultures.
The group discussed new challenges and possible transformations, perspectives in working with veterans, introduced local organizations with further collaborations with local to local etc.
