This year a new National Board and the President were elected. We congratulate Oksana Yaremenko who has taken leadership in YMCA Ukraine movement. That was important that there were 2 candidates for the position of the President, 11 to the positions in the National Board, 6 to the positions in the Auditing Committee. This is an important sign illustrating that YMCA Ukraine members are interested to influence the decisions at the National level and actively participate in the development of the movement.
The Conference accepted 2 local YMCAs to be full members of the organization after a probation period. We congratulate YMCA-Kids and YMCA Boyarka for outstanding work and official status in YMCA Ukraine!
YMCA Ukraine has adopted a new Strategy and started discussing the Operational Plan for the next three years. The new Strategy moves the organization to the development of the following priorities: empowerment of young people, relevant programs for young people, help to youth in crisis situations, effective governance and management, resource mobilization.
After the Conference partners of YMCA Ukraine gathered at the Filed Group meeting. This is a tool of YMCA Europe aimed at strengthening movements and gaining sustainability. Successes in development of YMCA Ukraine and next steps were discussed. Olga Lukina was representing YMCA Europe in both meetings.
It was important to observe democratic and transparent procedures at the Conference, a meaningful Strategic Plan, the active participation of YMCA Ukraine members and a clear feeling of belonging to the YMCA movement.
