The YMCA in Turkey has more than 100 years of experience in developing programs in teen leadership development, youth exchange, camping, sports, educational programs around language and business skills development as well as tourism and the promotion of youth and adult educational seminars.
The YMCA in Turkey has operated until recently under the name of the Yucel Kultur Vakfi (YKV). Recently, the YKV was granted Associate status with the European YMCAs and are working toward the same with the World Alliance. We are also in the process of becoming accredited for European Partnership.
The Turkish YMCA currently operates out of an office on the Asian side of the city of Istanbul. We also own an old and beautiful Ottoman mansion which is currently being restored and is located in the oldest part of Istanbul, on the European side, near Topkapi Palace and directly across the street from St Sophia Cathedral, now a museum. We also own a camp facility across the Sea of Marmara near the small village of Yalova city.
Our hope is to be able to extend a warm welcome and experience of Turkish hospitality to you and to work toward the reintegration of our programs and youth into the world wide fellowship of the YMCA. Also we are open to all kinds of cooperation and your offers.
