October 15 – 20 (2012) in Istanbul the YMCA Europe will held its next Catch the Vision Conference under the motto “Where West Meets East”: The event is to be a milestone activity in the implementation plan of the YMCA Europe Strategy 2011-2016, with specific focus on priorities “Peace, Justice and Democracy” and “Inclusive Christianity”. It is designed to leverage the capacity building initiatives of the major YMCA Europe on-going projects (Roots for Reconciliation and Balkan Initiative) into a joint training forum, open to pan-European participation. It will also provide an opportunity of exposure to the YMCA in Turkey.
The event timetable and outline is attached at the bottom of this page. The detailed working programme, including module briefs, will be sent to the selected participants individually.
Some practical hints. The conference will be held in the YMCA, a historical building downtown Istanbul. Accommodation nearby: Hotel EMEK (www.hotelemek.com). The event is co-financed by the Council of Europe European Youth Foundation and EED Germany, giving us a possibility to offer the participants under 30 years-old free board and lodging, as well as full travel reimbursement at cheapest possible fares. They will be anticipated to pay symbolic participation fee at EUR 40. Participants over 30 can be admitted at EUR 400 registration fee, with no refund of travel costs.
