YMCA Europe and YMCA Spain Explore New Collaborations with HP for Youth Empowerment in Spain.
This week, YMCA Europe and YMCA Spain engaged in a series of inspiring meetings with HP leadership at both the HP Campus in Sant Cugat and the YMCA Centre in Barcelona. These discussions created an opportunity to explore potential collaborations that could have a transformative impact on young people and communities across Europe.
YMCA Spain is dedicated to supporting the holistic development of children and young people by fostering an environment conducive to growth and promoting social responsibility. Their programmes focus on education, training, employment access, and encouraging healthy recreational activities that instil positive social values.
Additionally, YMCA Spain offers socio-family support, family education programmes, and assistance to improve household income, enhancing community wellbeing throughout Spain.
With a shared commitment to digital equity, youth skilling, and community engagement, YMCA and HP representatives explored innovative pathways for supporting vulnerable communities. Key themes included digital literacy, volunteer engagement, and community-driven initiatives—all aimed at empowering young people to thrive in today’s digital world.
Through our global partnership, we are looking to combine HP’s technological expertise with YMCA’s community outreach to bridge the digital divide and build essential skills for the future. Among the collaborative ideas discussed were digital hubs, events like CodeWars and Charity Day, and potential print solutions to support YMCA’s operations across Europe.
Our dynamic partnership also encompasses the HP HOPE project, a refurbished laptop donation programme reaching countries across Europe to help young people gain essential digital skills. Recently, HP delivered laptops to YMCA hubs and other non-profit partners in Ukraine, Malta, Greece, Bulgaria, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Spain, providing vital technology access for youth in challenging circumstances.
The meetings were supported by leaders from various HP departments, each bringing their expertise to help shape initiatives that align with YMCA’s mission. Together, YMCA and HP aim to make a lasting impact by fostering stronger, more inclusive communities.
As YMCA Europe and YMCA Spain continue to work closely with HP, we look forward to bringing these ideas to life and further enhancing support for young people across Europe.
