Every year, CVJM (YMCA) Bayern gathers families in Waging to create memorable and enriching experiences together.
Nestled amid the picturesque lake and mountains, life in tents brings you closer to nature and provides a unique opportunity for reflection and creative thinking. What truly sets this family camp apart is its people – a supportive, open, and enthusiastic community that generously shares their time and energy. A dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly to ensure that the camp is a delightful, adventurous, and unforgettable experience for all.
This year, the camp welcomed 35 Ukrainians who are temporarily residing in Bavaria due to the ongoing war in their homeland. They had the chance to become an integral part of the camp, contributing their cultural richness and unique talents to the program from August 19th to September 2nd. Adding to the camp’s diversity, a team from YMCA Hong Kong also joined the event, enhancing its intercultural flavor. It was a true blessing to unite over 300 individuals in two weeks, sharing countless cherished moments.
In August, Ukrainian youth from CVJM München embarked on a day trip to CVJM Nürnberg to explore the city and bond with one another. Kate, Victoria, and Iryna, who organized this event, are all members of YMCA Ukraine currently residing in Germany and working diligently with local YMCAs to support their fellow Ukrainians. Their collaborative efforts include language classes, emotional support, summer camps, educational programs, and creative workshops.
This is just a glimpse of the impactful work and harmonious connections that the YMCA community fosters in our ever-expanding global family.
