The multi-cultural city of Cluj-Napoca in Romania is the "European youth capital 2015", and from 29th January- 1st February 2015 was host to the YMCA UNIFY LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE.
Unify is a platform within the European YMCA which has the main aims of inspiring, worshipping and sharing together. It aims to motivate Christian mission, increasing participation from Y’s with differing Christian traditions, and also to strengthen Christian leadership at European and National Levels.
During the conference we learned of a new initiative ‘YOUTH UNIFY’ which will be an event commencing in Poland on the 15th – 21st August 2015, to be held in the Dom Nasutów which is a scenic center located outside Lublin. Youth Unify is a fantastic opportunity for young people within the YMCA movement to meet up and grow together in their Christian faith. More information
The Unify Leadership conference organized in Cluj focused on preparing for the next Unify conference which will be held in Switzerland hosted by CVJM Zentrum Hasliberg from 25th – 28th Feb 2016. More information will be available soon.
Times of worship and prayer for each country represented and the YMCA work in each location brought the opportunity to share personal experiences and to motivate and encourage one another. There was time for local sightseeing and visiting a local YMCA to learn more about the two movements which represent the YMCA in Romania, YMCA-Transylvania and YMCA Romania Federation. These proved an important and valuable part of the conference.
