Beyond Borders, Building Change: Youth Advocacy in Action!
YMCA Europe is pleased to announce the approval of a new international activity project co-funded by the European Youth Foundation (EYF) of the Council of Europe to support youth participation and advocacy!
This project is in the context of the YMCA Europe’s European Youth Representation Network (EYRN) aiming to support this group of young people in advancing their and the YMCA`s vision of the world.
The project will run throughout 2024 with the highlight being an in-person meeting of the network to co-design together awareness-raising campaigns in the impact pillars of Vision 2023 that will be implemented European-wide by them.
“Beyond Borders, Building Change: Youth Advocacy in Action!” is a workshop-based activity that will facilitate young people through a collaborative, participatory process of designing joint, pan-European advocacy campaigns on topics important to them in the areas of health and wellbeing; employment; climate action; and human rights.
By the end of the activity, participants will have a greater sense of their rights and how they can use them in coalition with others to create positive change to better society and contribute to a healthy culture of democracy across the continent.
This activity will be an opportunity for a diverse group of young people from YMCA Europe’s advocacy network, a platform established for young individuals interested in advocacy and active citizenship, to come together to construct a pan-European awareness-raising campaign.
Through the workshop sessions, they will reflect critically on their profile as advocates, civil society as a target audience, and learn to practically create the building blocks of a campaign such as the slogan, text, promotional materials for dissemination and more.
Stay tuned for the upcoming information from the EYRN and YMCA Europe’s news about ways to get involved.
