In the heart of Bulgaria, the YMCA Gabrovo digital hub is proving that when you combine technology, structured skilling, and local community support, real transformation happens.
Under the YMCA Europe and HP Digital Hubs initiative, this vibrant hub provides young people and community members with essential digital tools and life skills needed to thrive in modern education, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
A key pillar of YMCA Gabrovo’s success is equipping young people with the confidence to communicate their vision clearly.
Through the HP LIFE Effective Presentations course, participants learn to structure compelling narratives, leverage visual tools, and present their ideas authentically. This practical knowledge empowers youth not only in their academic and volunteer pursuits but also as they take their first steps into professional leadership and local enterprise.

Meet Denitsa from Gabrovo, Bulgaria. She took the Effective Presentations HP LIFE course at YMCA Gabrovo digital hub. Here is what she shared:
“I am very happy to be graduating from this course. For me, everything was useful – the importance of having a clear aim, how to prepare for the presentation itself, how to choose a good story to share, and most of all, how to prepare yourself in order to be humble and authentic in communicating your idea with the audience. I will immediately use the new knowledge and skills in the next few months while attending a student exchange in Germany. I also hope that the new skills will help me in finding my career path in the future.”
The practical application of digital literacy and presentation skills goes far beyond the classroom. During recent AI workshops and skilling sessions at the hub, YMCA Gabrovo connected with a young local entrepreneur who subsequently partnered with the organisation to design and supply custom-branded t-shirts for the YMCA’s youth camping programs.

By bridging digital learning with real-world collaboration, the hub acts as an incubator for local talent and business partnerships. Stories like Denitsa’s and the growing ecosystem of young entrepreneurs in Gabrovo highlight the transformative power of digital inclusion.
Through the continued partnership between YMCA Europe and HP, local hubs are doing more than just teaching technical skills—they are strengthening communities, expanding employability, and inspiring the next generation of confident, authentic leaders.
