From the 13th to the 15th of March, our representatives had the opportunity to attend the “Together for EU Elections 2024 Follow-up Event” – a multiplier event of the successful gathering organised in October 2023, and led by the team and leadership of the European Parliament Directorate-General for Communication.
The sessions brought together 100 professionals in communications, advocacy and policy-making from around Europe in light of the upcoming EU Elections, to learn more about delivering effective campaigns, discovering and developing new practices, and connecting for a stronger partnership across our organisation.
The sessions shed light on the importance of idea-sharing, understanding target audiences, and exchanging good practices with organisations and leaders from across local, national and pan-European organisations – fostering a space for networking and establishing a bridge for a broader – partnership building.
YMCA has much to learn, and plenty to share, and this opportunity to strengthen our relations and have a better understanding of what we as a movement can build in order to support young people, enable youth voices in policy making and have a say in the upcoming EU Elections, as well as making an impact in the local and national communities across our continent.
There have been many invaluable workshops on campaign-building and developing the works of many organisations within the European network of partners, however, the key highlight has been the toolkit and strategy presented by Philipp Schulmeister, Director for Campaigns at the European Parliament.
This event brought together an invaluable resource of expertise and professionals and supported the build-up of our upcoming campaign enabling young people to have a better understanding of the upcoming campaigns, and how their voice, action and determination can make a difference for a better future.
