Anita’s Journey with YMCA Prishtina and HP LIFE: Empowering Youth Through Education.
YMCA Prishtina is a beacon of empowerment and community engagement in Kosovo, where it implements a diverse array of impactful programs and continually seeks ways to offer young people programs that enrich them with knowledge, skills, purpose, and confidence to achieve their goals.
Among these impactful programs are and the community HUB which is an intriguing and captivating space that contains over 40 courses for young people to grow and expand their skills in any field that interests them such as communication, innovation, finance, marketing, technological skills, career development, digital business skills, and operations.
Anita Avdiu
Anita is a vibrant and driven young individual at Prishtina YMCA. She is 17 years old and has been a part of the YMCA for 2 years now. One of her main aspirations is to study computer science after she finishes high school. She decided to become a part of the YMCA to develop her essential skills and to contribute positively to society along with her peers. She thinks that the YMCA offers young people many opportunities to develop in different social and professional fields.
Anita’s experience with HP
She was excited to join the HP LIFE program considering it aligns with her career path and found the HP courses helpful, interesting, and practical. Her favorite course was Effective Leadership and one thing that stood out the most for her during the course was the engagement. She particularly liked the questions from everyday life situations that leaders deal with.
Some of the skills she has gained from this course are: using technology in leadership, effective communication, and new perspectives on leadership skills.

Anita’s expectations for her future
Anita has high expectations for her future and sees this opportunity as a stepping stone toward her career goals. She hopes that there will continuously be new courses for her to enroll in and further improve her skills. Anita wishes to make meaningful contributions to technological advancements and looks forward to using her new skills as a future leader.
