On Saturday, October 5th, YMCA Europe’s Executive Committee, joined by the Management Team, engaged in a comprehensive session on “Governance Essentials,” led by Don McCreesh.
With over 45 years of experience in governance across local, national, and international levels within the YMCA and corporate sectors, Don brought a wealth of knowledge to the discussion.
The session focused on key governance principles, including balancing strategic direction and operational oversight, risk management, and fiduciary responsibilities. These insights are crucial as YMCA Europe continues implementing its ongoing strategy within the Vision 2030 framework.
The workshop proved to be an invaluable learning opportunity for both leadership and management teams, providing the tools needed to enhance governance practices across our organization. As we move forward, this session equips us with the knowledge to strengthen our governance structures and align our work with long-term strategic goals.
