We are thrilled to introduce you to the “One for Another” program, a compassionate initiative crafted by the YMCA Bavaria a year ago, specifically tailored for Ukrainian women residing in Germany.
The idea of the program is to create a circle of mutual support, in which Ukrainian women can bring their experience, feelings, and talents.
Art and theater workshops aimed at supporting the emotional state of women, photo exhibition, meetings with experts in marketing, time management, nutrition, beauty, etc., where women share their expertise and inspire each other to take new steps in self-development – all of these are the initiatives implemented by the women from “One for Another”.
An integral part of the program is childcare, which is provided by specialists in a separate space so that children can enjoy games while mothers have time for themselves.
This program gives women the opportunity to share the difficult experience of war and forced displacement, as well as to cherish the culture and customs of their country, to feel the closeness of home thousands of kilometers away – through Ukrainian poetry evenings, creative workshops, cooking traditional dishes or volunteering for Ukraine.
In addition to the “One for Another” program, YMCA Bavaria has been actively engaged in fostering community support for the Ukrainian population in the region.
Notably, in 2023, the organization organised many other activities, exhibitions and events, also summer camps tailored for this community, providing a platform for recreation, skill-building, and community bonding.
These initiatives reflect the YMCA Bavaria’s commitment to addressing the unique needs of the Ukrainian community.
