This year’s Youth Unify program was hosted from 10th to 16th of August by YMCA Slovakia in the picturesque and mountainous area of Donovaly in the Lower Tatras.
The program offered a week full of inspiration, creativity and togetherness with 70 representatives from 10 nations and young people from all over Europe, engaged in various activities and workshops aimed at improving the communities they are serving.
During the sessions, participants had the opportunity to experience amazing lectures, discussions and creative workshops where the youth could exchange their experiences and ideas.
The Youth Unify program also included sports activities, art workshops, ecological initiatives and much more. It was great to see young people coming together to discuss important topics like sustainability, inclusion, and social responsibility.
The sessions also involved representatives and beneficiaries from the Ukrainian community, and as a movement-wide initiative, the main message of the program has been to welcome unity in diversity, reflecting on YMCA’s efforts to create safe spaces, development of future strategies, and initiatives aligned with YMCA Vision 2030.
YMCA Youth Unify has offered a unique perspective on leadership building, team-focused and experiential learning experiences in the outdoors, as well as within the YMCA spaces.
