On 16th. November 2013, YMCA Europe’s Impact Day, our President Ed Eggink was appointed “Knight in the Order of Orange Nassau” by the King of The Netherlands.
The funeral took place of Egon Slopianka at Westoverledingen, northern Germany on Monday 4th November 2013. During the last few months, Egon’s health had deteriorated, and he died in Berlin on Sunday 27th October 2013.

With the passing away of Egon Slopianka the YMCA movement has lost one of its most dedicated and skilled leaders and a passionate servant of the movement.

Memories of the days spent in Prague during the Festival are still in our minds.

In one of the summer camps of YMCA YWCA Iceland – Ölver, in autumn (not summer), somewhere remote in the Icelandic nature, a group of youth workers (not youth) came together to train themselves (not to camp). Thus, the atmosphere was full of surprises.
